Sisters in Crime Fall Showcase

Our Fall Showcase at Books, Inc. in San Francisco was a huge success as you can see by the crowd! DSCN0581In spite of a broken knee, Eileen Magill made it to the event to read from her spooky House of Homicide, putting to use her experience of living in a haunted house. DSCN0582We’ll miss her when she moves to Vancouver, WA, in the very near future.

I read from my story Critical Mass from the anthology Destination: Mystery! from Darkhouse Books. Here I am with the editor and publisher, Andrew MacRae, also my ride up to the event.

DSCN0587Thank you, thank you, thank you, Andrew! And thanks to my friend Susan Bickford, who picked me up at the bus station in San Jose. Susan’s first book, A Short Time to Die, will be released early in 2016, half of a two-book contract. I’ve already read the thriller as part of a critique group. Watch for it. It’s a great read. I’m looking forward to the next one.

For right now, I’m going to start Ellen Kirschman’s The Right Wrong Thing. Ellen has years of experience as a police psychologist, and I know from her first novel, Burying Ben, that no one does better at creating complex cop characters. DSCN0584
