The Big Launch!

The Big Day, the launch of SANTA CRUZ NOIR, was a resounding success! Santa Cruz showed up in force for a SRO audience at Bookshop Santa Cruz.

Editor Susie Bright kept the evening whirling along with her wit. Check out her marvelous gloves. You can win these black leather beauties by writing a review of SANTA CRUZ NOIR and sending proof of your review to ">Susie Bright.

The authors present at the event were each able to read a snippet from his/her story. For those unable to attend, I’m including here’s an excerpt of my story from the audio version.

After the launch, we mixed with the crowd and signed books, before heading off to an after party replete with specially concocted drinks, the 5150 and the Ko-Ed Killer.

This has been a banner year for my short stories. Now that SANTA CRUZ NOIR has launched, watch for SANTA CRUZ WEIRD from Good Read Publishers. It contains my story “Critical Mass.” The anticipated release is in September, 2018. My short story “Room and Board” has been accepted for the Sisters in Crime Guppies’ anthology FISHY BUSINESS. The editor, Linda Rodriguez, has just finished the first round of edits. And farther down the pike, my short story “Last Word” will appear in FAULT LINES, the first anthology from the NorCal Chapter of Sisters in Crime.

Please consider signing up for my newsletter. (See my Home page.) As a quarterly, it won’t clutter your mailbox and each edition offers a raffle.
